I'm more interested to know what Milbury and Roenick think is going to happen.

In a cap world and Malkin making 9 million per, I'd say Kesler and something or someone else you need. Wingers? Defense? What about Bieksa? Just food for thought, zero chance of Malkin going to the Nucks.

If we didn't make stuff up there'd be nothing to talk about.

I don't know if I agree with Pierre. From what Leaf fans have said to us in previous comments the Pens should feel privledged to acquire either Kadri or Colbourne for Malkin.

Because they are on par with a 2 time Art Ross Trophy winner.

I doubt NJ trades the rights in conference, if Parise is traded. Similarly, I would be shocked IF Malkin gets moved, that it would be in-conference. Personally, I think Crosby may be the person to deal, if PR meant nothing...this is however not the case. Ideally, I think the Pens want one of these guys to play wing, and all of them to take a good 1-2mil less than value...we'll see.

In the meantime, I would very much like to see a Martin trade (even though I think he'll have a much better year next year), and picking up a guy like Duglas Murray (SJ) and a nice 3rd line C along the lines of Gausted (but a less expensive version)...

You would be shot if you tried to trade the almighty Keslord on the Canucks blog.

i like the team how it is. If staal/martin do end up being traded, i would love for the pens to go after parise. Also if we do trade staal, it would be smart to trade him for a 1st rounder and a 3rd line center. Im not really worried about the D as i feel their system wasnt working right for the players they have

Which GM is going to give up a 1 st rounder and 3 rd line center for Staal's one year contract?

didnt we trade christensen, armstrong, and a 1st for hossa with half a year left? the kings also traded a prospect, and i think a 1st and a 3rd rounder for penner with a year and a half on his contract. a team who is confident that they will negotiate a contract with staal with give up a 1st plus something else

we saw people trade 3rd round draft picks just for the rights of a player a month before free agency

A team that is confident they will sign Staal (wink wink Carolina wink wink) will wait till he is a UFA.

The difference with the two previous mentioned trades you stated ,the player involved was not rumoured to be waitng to become a UFA so he could sign with his brother.

so your saying no team will trade for him because he will become a fa next year? so buffalo gets a 1st for gaustad, but you dont think any team would do that for staal?

Why's that? I can't see Malkin playing in Pitts his whole career.

No way the Pens get rid of Malkin. He just had a Hart season. Of those three Staal makes the most sense to trade.

stop exaggerating.....we were referring to Staal, and it was for both players plus....anything else would have pure sarcasm and you know it...or least least you should know it

No, its the same pile of sledge coming back from Toronto regardless of if its Staal or Malkin - a bunch of guys with the last name starting with K that Pittsburgh has NO use for - overpaid, seriously regressed or failed prospect.

Toronto has NO assets for Malkin, let alone Staal.

Malkin isn't going anywhere.

Montreal can't offer anything for Malkin that makes sense for Pittsburgh.

if staal is to be traded, id think it would be out of the conference, let alone out of the division. Id think the preds would like to take a shot to get staal, especially if radulov, 1 of the kostitsyns, and gaustad dont come back next season. also if suter goes somewhere else they will have plenty of cap space to re sign him long term.

if we did trade him now to nashville, i wouldnt mind getting hornqvist back

I would want Austin Watson as part of the return. I wanted the Pens to draft him, but the Preds snuck in and stole him and left Bennet for us.
